BRUSD Suspension of Meal Distribution

Due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus in our town and the surrounding communities, and with anticipation of the problem only becoming worse in the coming weeks, we will suspend the distribution of our meals program beginning Monday, April 13, 2020. Therefore, until further notice, this week will be the last in which we provide free meals.

We will closely monitor local conditions to determine if, and when, to resume food services. We hope to develop solutions allowing meals to be delivered while also keeping everyone involved safe from exposures to the virus. Our team is currently contemplating several possibilities.

Emergency response channels of communication are used, including phone calls, text messages, social media posts, and email to notify our students, parents, staff, and community of any changes to district services now provided.

I sincerely apologize for the interruption of our free meals program. I am painfully aware it provide a stable food source for many of the kids of our community and the surrounding areas. Therefore, it is our commitment to seek long-term solutions regarding the health, safety, and welfare of our staff and the recipients of our food services programs. Thank you for your consideration.
